Last week, I was presenting at the Customer Forum 2022 event of successful Portuguese Microsoft Dynamics 365 partner myPartner in Porto and Lisbon.

The overall theme of this event was 'Designing the Future Together'. And the company invited me to deliver the keynote presentation and to moderate a panel discussion on both days.

Keynote messages

My keynote presentation was centered around the transformational part of Digital Transformation. We’ve discussed why the internal organisation and the right mindset are more important for Project Success than endless functions and features. What the dangers of heavy customizations are. And why C-level engagement is crucial to achieve this success. Unfortunately, as so often at these kind of events, the number of C-level attendees was less than is actually needed.

Panel discussions

I also led two interactive panel discussions with customers and myPartner employees in the panel. The audience was part of the larger panel using the Mentimeter app to vote on provocative questions around these dilemmas:

• Modernise your software or your entire organisation?
• How to best manage organisational change?
• Is the future of business software in the cloud?

The chosen format created a nice vibe, turned every visitor into a content creator and resulted in valuable learnings for all of us.
