Presenting conditions for Project Success at Illuminate 2024

On September 11ht and 12th 2024, I was a speaker at the Illuminate 2024 event of the AMCP in the beautiful German city Cologne.

I hosted two insightful sessions aimed at driving partner transformation and project success.

In my opinion, the delivery of Customer Project Success requires only 3 elements, namely:

  • A great software solution
  • A strong implementation partner
  • And a motivated and well-prepared customer

While implementation partners have no or limited influence on the software solution, their influence is great on their own organization and on the level of preparation of their customers.

My first session was titled Stop Delivering Products! Start Delivering Project Success! This was all about the partner transformation process. In my observation, most partners have made their solutions cloud ready over the past few years. But their methodologies and the mindset of their team are oftentimes still ‘on-premise based’. And therefore outdated.

If you are the boss at a Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation partner it is not easy to admit this. Certainly not! But once you have crossed that threshold you suddenly understand how much progress a slightly adjusted approach and mindset will bring both your company and your customers!

How far has your organization progressed in this important transformation?

My second session was focused on engagement with your new customer. And more specific on the senior management of that customer. Titled: Engage with the Customer’s C-Level to Achieve Project Success! Most customers implement new solutions every 8 to 10 years. Which automatically makes them the weakest link in the total success chain.

In this session we’ve discussed why such an engagement is crucial for the ultimate success. We’ve exchanged ideas regarding the best strategies to inspire, educate and engage the management. And we’ve learned how other Microsoft D365 partners are already successful with this approach.

How good are you at inspiring your customers?

I want to thank the IAMCP and especially Daniela Reher and Klaus Fander for having me at this great event. And I wish all attendees of my sessions success in applying all you have heard and learned.

And what about you?

So how good is your organisation in marketing, selling, delivering and supporting Project Success? Interested in improving your own performance? And to become a more attractive partner for your current and future customers?
